Welcomes new members...

Seishinryu Budo is a non-profit, non-competitive group that promotes martial arts's spiritual and philosophical aspects.  While retaining traditional values yet adapting to modern applications. We welcome new and experienced, old and young to experience this unique martial art. We recently moved to our current location, set in the scenic and historical Ashburton Hall. Over the years we have become involved with many community and charity events. We are committed to carrying on with this mission. Classes are currently held on Sundays from 1.30 to 3.30 pm.

The dojo is on the first floor (lift available), overlooking Ashburton Park.

Our History in Brief...

Seishinryu Budo means "spiritual school" and was originally based at the Sir Philip Game Center and was one the time largest martial arts clubs, offering Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, Kendo, iaido, Muy Thai, Wu Shu, and associated arts including Shiatsu. After fifty-five years circumstances forced us to leave. There were several dojos located in various clubs and colleges. As the council policies changed these clubs could no longer be maintained. However, with a few dedicated students Seishinryu has managed to survive.
