Welcome 2025!

4/28 week Extra time play games or watch Vision Video. They can play most games on the ipad, including among us

Robotics 1: Look at the label on your bin. Dump your bin on the table or a open space on the floor. Fill the bin with the amount of pieces of each type that's listed on the label. Organize the extra pieces back into the drawers. When your bin is done take the rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball and remove your names from the bin. Then take painters tape and tape both handles shut so I know it's done and ready for next year. Then you may play any games already installed on the iPad. Minecraft education I could not get to work.

Life Science:

Write down in your notebook a lab report for this project. (SCI METHOD FOLDABLE tray 1)

Start with your problem: "How can we help native bees from going extinct?"

Then I want you to write a hypothesis on which bees you believe will occupy your hotel. If you have sections for different be types, list the native bees associated with each section.

In your experiment instructions, I want you to draw your build and list the supplies you used and your process for your creation.

Skip Collect Data and Analyze data Or In Collect Data you will create a table to track bees at your hotel.

You won't be able to collect this data till we are out of Winter obvy, so I want you to skip down and make a conclusion just for your building process. What would you do differently, If you built a new hotel? What did you learn from this Unit?

When done watch this video as a class: Exploring Native Bees: Unveiling the Secret World of Fuzzy Pollinators

Physics: Friction notebook (Striped on my desk) Instructions are on the cover of it. Then they are going to continue or start making either a bridge or a catapult. The limit is 1ft by 8in. they can research ideas on safari on the ipads. Launch jolly ranchers, and test weight with the weights bin.

Biology: Write lab report, same as life science instructions, but expect high school quality.

Zoology: Watch this video then Read the sea star handout, it's on top of the blue tray in front of my desk. They must tape it into their notebook when done. Watch this video about vision, they started it but didn't finish it.

Robotics 2: They can choose any project from snap circuit kits, they may play any working coding games PC or Ipad. Minecraft Education I couldn't get to work

4/21 Week

4/14 Week

Life Science, Biology, Zoology Cow Eyeball Dissection then watch video about vision. Monday p4 is at 5 minutes

4/7 Week

OMG 5 weeks left of classes! DISSECTION NEXT WEEK Life Science, Biology, and Zoology

Robotics 1: continue building with your artec blocks. don't forget to turn your computer off by the windows icon and power icon at 9:20 NOT BEFORE and plug them in. Turn off your battery pack and check your area for lost pieces.

Life Science: If you are still building your native bee hotels, please work quickly. If you feel lost on how to fill your hotel, grab an ipad and search bee hotels or homes. You could also add a lady bug home, search how to do that. You may not look anything else up without teacher approval.

IF YOU'RE DONE

Write down in your notebook a lab report for this project. (SCI METHOD FOLDABLE tray 1)

Start with your problem: "How can we help native bees from going extinct?"

Then I want you to write a hypothesis on which bees you believe will occupy your hotel. If you have sections for different be types, list the native bees associated with each section.

Physics: Finish Launching our Rockets and finish our handout

Biology: See Life Science

Zoology:  They need to finish the squid dissection packet. Then complete the assignment from below. Write in your notebooks the characteristics of the phylum Echinodermata from Google. The we are building a starfish dissection out of paper first.

Robotics 2: NO SOLDERING They are going to grab down the black circuit kits from the top of robotics cabinet in the hall. Work on project book 1-100.

ROBOTICS 2 Monday

3/17 week

3/10 week (Tuesday will have a Sub)

Robotics 1: continue building with your artec blocks. don't forget to turn your computer off by the windows icon and power icon at 9:20 NOT BEFORE and plug them in. Turn off your battery pack and check your area for lost pieces.

Life Science: you are still building your native bee hotels. If you feel lost on how to fill your hotel, grab an ipad and search bee hotels or homes. You could also add a lady bug home, search how to do that. You may not look anything else up without teacher approval. Only use tools approved by your teacher.

Physics: if you are still building your rockets please finish building and decorating (you may get paint from art room). Once done building we need to glue in our engine with the B-7000 glue. The Engines are in a box in the fish tank behind the mini fridge. The side with the white fruit loop in it is the bottom of the rocket that should be placed facing the table in the rocket. The engine should line up with the bottom of the tube. If it doesn't it's due to the stopper ring being placed too low. Hopefully, this won't have much effect. I want them to go back to the Soaring to New Heights! Hand out that should be in there notebook. (I'll put more in tray 3 behind the printer) I want them to go through and read it all then determine what they need to fill out during launch. I want them to write in their notebook apsuser

Biology: you are still building your native bee hotels. If you feel lost on how to fill your hotel, grab an ipad and search bee hotels or homes. You could also add a lady bug home, search how to do that. You may not look anything else up without teacher approval.

If you are done, please help others around the class. If there is no one to help, I want you to refer back to 1/29 and write down in your notebook a lab report for this project. (SCI METHOD FOLDABLE tray 1) Start with your problem. Then I want you to write a hypothesis on which bees you believe will occupy your hotel. If you have sections for different be types, list the native bees associated with each section. In your experiment instructions, I want you to draw your build and list the supplies you used and your process for your creation. In Collect Data you will create a table to track bees at your hotel. You won't be able to collect this data till we are out of Winter obvy, so I want you to skip down and make a conclusion just for your building process. What would you do differently, If you built a new hotel? What did you learn from this Unit?

Zoology:  They need to finish the hornworm dissection packet. Then complete the assignment from below. Once these are done, use computer S4 (Black Top) Plug in the VCA blue cord to the back and turn on projector. Pull up Frogouts on the desktop and click menu- Squid. Plug in Speaker. Click through the virtual dissection. Tell them they will be doing the real dissection but this allows them to see things we won't have time or be able to. This should take all of class. if not they can write in their notebooks the characteristics of the phylum Mollusca from Google. Will Dissect next week.

Robotics 2: NO SOLDERING They are going to grab down the black circuit kits from the top of robotics cabinet in the hall. I want them to play around with the kits. If they need more instruction have them research series versus parallel circuitry.

3/3 week

Physics rocket build video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQt9fMd0zrY

Zoology finished the dissection packet by researching on Google. They also complied a list of the new characteristics that come with the phylum Arthropoda.

Exoskeleton: A protective outer covering made of chitin that provides support and structure, requiring periodic molting as the animal grows.

Robotics, Life Science, Biology no change

2/23 week

Robotics 1 working on Artec Blocks

Life Sci and Biology are building native bee homes that they designed.

Week of 1/19

Robotics 1 continue cue

Life science we played this interactive game as a class

Physics continue model rockets, bring any materials you may want to use

Biology watch this video until 6:30 then do an interactive sort of micro-organisms. try to see if any look like the ones you saw on your slides.

Zoology Finish nematoda-round worms. Start Annelida-segmented worms. We talked about how before the winter worms go deep into the ground until there is no freeze risk, the cover themselves in mucus to keep moist and take a nap until it warms up. We then looked at the external anatomy of nightcrawlers and red wigglers. Next week we will DISECT the Nightcrawlers!

Simple animals video

Complex animals Video

Week of 1/12

Robotics 1 is working on the Cue Robot which teaches block coding to python

Life Science Learned about Mitosis and Meiosis

Physics is building air powered model rockets

Biology grew micro-organisms and looked at them under a microscope

Zoology moved on from flatworms to nematoda- round worms. We looked at a soil dwelling nematode under the microscope. many were grossed out at the worm they couldn't see with their bare eyes

Robotics 2 finished soldering the first project, an led light switch

OMG It's December!

Robotics 1: Holiday party played with accessories

Continuing Dash or on to Cue. When they finish block coding on dash, they move on to Python coding through the robot Cue.

Life Science: We acted out A Day in the Life of a Cell

Now that our animal cell's have been cast into resin we need to label the organelles and learn more about each organelle. Try to fill out your animal cell organelle structure and function sheet with this video

Physics: We started a Build a Model Rocket Unit

We are finishing the lens portion of the handout then go through the review questions.

We are working on understanding light and it's interactions with prisms and lens. Optics

Biology: https://askabiologist.asu.edu/games or https://biomanbio.com/ or https://www.amnh.org/explore/ology/games

Last week we inoculated agar dishes with random germs around the school. We collected data on them today. Then played games from above

We are sanitize/disinfecting agar in petri dishes. Once data is collected on our plates since cleaning them, we will determine if any of our options were effective. Next, we will inoculate sterile agar dishes to see what's growing in the school microscopically.

Zoology: Finished the Cnidarian Powerpoint and moved on to flatworms!

Finish the rest of the Cnidaria Packet. Including going over the answers together. Then discuss the other creatures in cnidaria in this PowerPoint. Will need the speaker on.

Robotics 2: Some students have moved onto the LED Project and others have not yet. Some need a refresher.

STARTING SOLDERING. SAFETY CLOSE TOED SHOES AND LONG PANTS NOW FORWARD. Must have all air purifiers on and yellow fume extractor on at table. SAFETY GOGGLES REQUIRED. Remember any of the metal parts on the soldering iron will be extremely hot, so do not touch. If an iron falls, quickly move out of the way. DO NOT try and catch it. once done falling pull back up with cord. Silicone mats required on table.
