Robotics 1: Most students are now on cue, a couple are moving on to Artec Blocks on Monday and Tuesday

Forensics: Blood typing activity link 

Chemistry: Monday and Tuesday are finishing their chosen labs. Wednesday is ready to do experiment portion. 

Physical Science: Watch this video write in notebooks If (Independent variable) then (dependent variable) because (Science behind it). Then watch this video Tuesday got to 1 minute. 

Monday didn't do bowling ball experiment yet. 

Meteorology:  We discussed why the sky is blue. Placed a little milk in water and shined a flashlight through it. Made some more guesses then watched this video showing light rays and gas particles in the sky. Then We built Anemometers based on this video.

week 11/10 materials on rolling cart

Robotics 1: Most students are now on cue, a couple are moving on to Artec Blocks on Monday 

Forensics: We will do blood typing the week after break. We are going to look at our super glue fingerprints and try to match them back to their owner using the fingerprint page we did with ink in our notebook. Once they are all matched tape yours into your notebook. Then watch this video and then try dusting random objects in the class with paint brushes and corn starch. Must clean up mess from this. How hard was this activity? 

Chemistry: Continue their Chosen Experiment by setting up an effective lab report, prepping materials, then running the lab at least 3 times.

Monday: bubbles

Tuesday: Bucket fog rings

Wednesday: Launch potatoes 

Physical Science: Continuing our learning on density. From the rolling cart each student will need a plastic test tube and write their name on it with permanent marker. Then have the students pull up the list of liquids they compared densities on last week. Ask them which liquid should go first in our tube. some liquids are clear. We can add food coloring to make them visible. The heaviest we have is honey. Lightest is rubbing alcohol. Fill tube with the different liquids then close the tubes. 

Meteorology: Watch this video to learn how ozone is made in the atmosphere. Then Model Ozone creation in the atmosphere with marshmallows and wood sticks. This lab is in the weather & Climate Science lab for kids.

Forensics: We used fingerprinting ink to do a complete fingerprint sheet to analyze whorls, arches, and loops. Then we did How to Lift Fingerprints: Cyanoacrylate Super Glue Fuming We may have or may not have watched this video on How fingerprints are formed.  We will do blood typing week after break. 

Chemistry: Start their Chosen Experiment by setting up an effective lab report and prepping materials

Physical Science: Next up 7 Layer Density Column so we are go to learn about density. Ask students what they think density means. Usually, they say no lol you'll need to explain that D=M/V means density is the calculated objects mass divided by it's volume. We then took notes in our notebook, which are in Physical Science Notes on our new vocab words mass, weight, volume, density. Then we too a guess on about 10 different liquids and which we think are more or less dense and finally put them in order. 

Meteorology: We reviewed fronts, then did this experiment  watched this video because we can't create it in class. Next we created as many fronts in the simulation that we could create

Forensics: Played Werewolf

Chemistry: Built Hydrogen and Oxygen gas, water, and Carbon dioxide out of molecular set on periodic table battleship boards. Discussed turning the models into bigger sizes using ping pong balls. Showed Phet Simulations   that they could use for a variety of classes. I want them to use the Build a Molecule simulation, which shows how a molecule should look and its bond structure by clicking 3D. Forensics: Reveal our invisible writing with light, heat, or grape juice. May start learning about fingerprints. continue 3D prints

Chemistry: Post lab for Five white substances. watch Chemical reactions video. Discuss decomposition reactions. 

Physical Science: Complete five white substances. Figure out what unknown substances are then do post lab. Discuss Physical vs chemical change

Meteorology: 3D Prints? Discuss homework of Barometer for Monday.  Tuesday and Wednesday  Make a barometer and scale. Add High to the sun and Low to the rain image on the scale. HOMEWORK Take notes on the back of the scale every day for the week.

Forensics: Use the3D print notes for handwriting final analysis. Write in invisible ink on separate paper for next week reveal. (Lemon Juice, Vinegar, and Baking soda and water). TAPE in notebook. Watch video on invisible ink 

Chemistry: Continue Five White Substance Lab   Chemical reactions video 

Physical Science: Continue 5 white substances, 3D prints

Meteorology: Make a barometer and scale. Add High to the sun and Low to the rain image on the scale. We also watched this video on air masses and fronts. Tuesday mostly forgot their jars and read instead. HOMEWORK Take notes on the back of the scale every day for the week. Wednesday was still behind a week.

Meteorology: We created a cloud in a bottle, and wrote down what we did, what we saw and what we learned. This is in meteorology notes.  We then learned how to read a radar map and drew the color scale from this video with the addition of blue for mist before light green.

Forensics: Write on! Typography. Identify who forged the checks! Write down who did it and 2 characteristics in their handwriting that gave it away. Watch the handwriting robot video  We aren't watching it all the way but you can here. 

Chemistry: Finished our Chemistry notes of Elements, Compounds, and Mixtures.  Choose 1 labs we may do from fancy books. Water Vs Hydrogen Peroxide  Atoms Example. Discuss Qualitative vs Quantitative Data. Start Five White Substance Lab

Physical Science: Discuss and notate what are elements and compounds.  Finish Color code and complete Build an Atom. Start 3D prints? Types of Matter, Element, Compound, mixture 

Meteorology: Discuss clouds, create them with cotton balls, in formation of altitude located at, and discuss atmosphere. Match your art clouds to clouds outside. Took notes on All of the cloud types video but only up until "Lenticular Clouds".

Robotics 1: No Robots on Tables. 3D prints have a 2 hour or 20g of filament Limit. 

Tuesday started to learn how to 3D print with the Bambu Handy App and how to change filament

Monday/Wednesday: We started learning: Block coding using Robot Dash, how to track our progress through dash lessons, and chose partners. 

Periods 2-5: Forensics-Chemistry-Physical Science-Meteorology: 

Collect Safety Contract that was homework. 

Forensics: Play Werewolf then discuss what strategies helped them in the game and relate to forensics. 

Monday needed notebook setup and/or going over the rules, and possibly safety contract 

Chemistry: Periodic table battleship Except Tuesday 

Physical Science: Periodic table battleship

Meteorology: Finish either WEATHER JEOPARDY or METEOROLOGY JEOPARDY, Wednesday didn't have enough time because they were messing around, so start game.

Robotics 2: Continue to learn how to 3D print with the Bambu Handy App. 

Then Tuesday and Wednesday will learn 3D Modeling a donut VIA TinkerCad

We received a copy of the Safety Contract as homework. We passed out notebooks, wrote our names on them and Mrs. Sherer, cut and pasted our Science Rules and Class Expectations into our notebooks, discussed those, cleaned up after ourselves and placed our notebooks in the notebook drawer. 

Forensics: Then played One Night Werewolf. Monday may have missed notebook setup or going over the rules.

Chemistry: May have played periodic table battleship, however some did not have enough time.

Physical Science: May have played periodic table battleship, however some did not have enough time.

Meteorology: Played either WEATHER JEOPARDY or METEOROLOGY JEOPARDY, Wednesday didn't have enough time because they were messing around.
