This beautiful facade will be the first thing you can see upon entering the school premises. It has 2 security guards, and they will close the gate at exactly 6:55am for the Flag ceremony. With this, all students and faculty members are mandated to enter the school as early as possible.
The lobby is where visitors wait during appointments, and where we wait for Grab cars when going home. In here we can view the school ground with the flagpole. Furthermore, there is an assigned faculty each day in accomodating students, parents, and visitors, especially those first timers like us SEA Exchange Student-Teachers in entering the school.
This is used only by everyone during Flag Ceremony, nothing more, nothing less. This is to develop students’ patriotism by respecting their National Flag and National Anthem. It is also forbidden to cross the ground for the preservation of the soil and grass for better appearance.
The faculty room is composed of 1 table per teacher with a limited but enough space for school and paper works. The tables are also well-arranged and allowing every teacher to collaborate with one another. The Principal’s office is separated with a door but eveyone can enter as long as you knock, especially during appointments.
These 4 laboratories are in different rooms but same building. These are utilized by students depending on their subjects or classes. The rooms are spacious and really good for performace tasks in the applicable subjects. Furthermore, laboratory apparatus and musical instruments are present in the learning rooms. These can make students understand the lessons more in actual situations. Moreover, each laboratory has a washing area in front for sanitary purposes.
Batik Arts is one of the students’ subjects during their senior year. This is included in their curriculum to preserve culture and arts of the country among students. This room includes the materials in making Batik clothing and design such as wax, paint, boiling apparatus, and many more. This is positioned in the corner of the school because of the unwanted smell of the wax in the making-process.
Each grade level has its own building. This is to promote collaboration among students for same topics to discuss with. With this, they can be more productive in learning even during open times where they can talk about their lessons and can relate with peers.
The clinic has 2 separate rooms. One for the boys and one for the girls. The school is gender-sensitive and this is a good implementation of the school in promoting equality among students.
This facility is clean and well-sanitized with a lot of space for customers. It has many tables and chair which can accommodate a lot of students during break times where they rest and relax before proceeding to their next classes for more productive learning.
Motorcycle is the most common transportation of the people of Indonesia. Due to its comfort, speed, and short fuel consumption, students as well as faculty members use it in going to school, and this parking lot is free for all for a better and well-arranged school environment.
There are 8 toilets of same design with continuous water provision. They are clean and fragrant and very pleasing to use in times of need, and they still observe Covid-19 safety precautions. You will never have doubts in using these public comfort rooms.
These courts are used for extra curricular sports activities. They conduct their sports festival after their semestral exam for students to have time for relaxation and rest to reduce academic stress of the students after the long days of exam.
It is air conditioned and conducive for learning The internet connection is also strong and fast which is very useful for everyone’s school works or researches. The Library is open for all but you must remove your footwear upon entering for the sake of cleanliness. There is a shoe rack in front so it is well-arranged.
There are also provisions for students with special needs such as:
Ramps are existing in the school premises aside from stairs for those people with disability particularly who are physically disabled or those using wheelchairs.
They are really promoting inclusivity in the school premises even in the simplest thing anyone could done. Moreover, everyone has the right to paste notes in their bulletin boards regardless of gender and status.
"During my stay and observation at SMA Negeri 1 Cangkringan, I found no flaws when it comes to facilities and provisions. Everything is well-maintained, and everything is in order and in the perfect place for better learning opportunities. This is my dream school during my high school years, where laboratories are truly utilized for actual learning, isolated music and arts rooms for greater involvement and focus in learning, and a very clean and green environment that is very conducive to learning. I hope and pray that schools in the Philippines will be patterned to this school."
