During my participation in the SEA-Teacher program, I had to go through several stages in preparation before I started my teaching practice. Of course, one of the stages that I had to go through was observation of the learning system that used at Dominican School Manila. Through these observations, I got a new knowledge that the teaching system used at Dominican School Manila is slightly different from that used in Indonesia.

According to my observation in the kindergarten, I found that the teaching system used in this school is student centered. This teaching system will prioritize and focus learning according to the needs of students. By applying this teaching method, students will be motivated to continue to be active and responsible during the learning process. Teachers who apply this method will only be facilitators who help students in determining goals in the learning process, assessing student work, as well as being a companion in discussions and group work.
I think this teaching method is very suitable if applied to kindergarten, because students who are in kindergarten are children who are still in the process of growth. Students at the kindergarten level are students who are in the golden period, meaning that all learning activities carried out at that age will be recorded and carried over to adulthood later. So through the application of this student center method, students are expected to always be active and responsible in everything they do.
Learning Materials, Technology Innovation,
and Authentic Assesment
Through the observation process, I learned that the teacher uses learning materials that are interesting to students. Although the materials are determined according to the curriculum, the students have the opportunity to choose the activities to be carried out. The teacher also teaches more often with the help of modern technology, so that students can focus more and better understand what is conveyed by the teacher. Some materials are also delivered with interesting and interactive methods, so that students get the opportunity to actively learn together.

With this method, students will feel happy and motivated to do better in the next lesson.
