SPARC Sponsored Workshop on

“Issues and Challenges in Micro-Grids with Intermittent Sources ”

21st to 25th December 2020.

About the workshop

This one week SPARC sponsored workshop aims to introduce the operation and control concepts of flexible micro-grid with non-conventional sources like photovoltaics and electric vehicles decimating the opportunities and current challenges. Renewable energy technologies are ideally suited to distributed applications, and they have substantial potential to provide an alternative to grid extension or as a supplement to the conventional grid. Energy access is crucial for improving the quality of Indian life and their economic conditions, and 24/7 energy availability remains a priority for the Indian government. Off-grid, clean energy technologies, electric vehicles combined with innovative research models, market-based solutions, and local community involvement have tremendous potential. A key step to make this technology a transformative agent for the lives of individuals and communities is via providing sustainable and economic opportunities by making it flexible and easily available to individuals. This workshop is addressed to power electronic engineers, power system engineers, electrical engineers and researchers working in the field of distributed generation, micro-grids and electric vehicles aiming to provide an opportunity in the research and development of suitable technology for the implementation various micro-grid components.
