Summary of the Project
The World Health Organization (WHO) checklist presents the main features of the domains and processes of institutionalization of Evidence-Informed Policymaking (EIPM), which must be contextualized in the face of each country's potentialities. It serves as a tool to help governments and policy support organizations navigate the iterative features of institutionalization, both for creating new institutions and for strengthening existing institutions. We are currently piloting the checklist in Thailand. The project is funded by Chulalongkorn University.
This pilot study aims to address this gap with the following objectives:
• to assess situations and evidence ecosystem for EIPM in Thailand;
• to identify the current stage of institutionalization and explore key actions of six institutionalization domains in Thailand;
• to produce a list of key actions to strengthen current institutions or move forward to the next stage of institutionalization;
• to obtain stakeholders’ feedback on the usefulness and efficiency of the tool and refine the tool.
