Both programs are centered around a core coaching curriculum, which is comprised of the following three classes:
EXSC 294 Health and Wellness Coaching
HEAL 107 Lifestyle Medicine for Health and Wellness Coaches
EXSC 298 Applications of Health and Wellness Coaching
EXSC 294 and EXSC 298 are offered in online synchronous (live) formats. These class must be taken live per NBHWC requirements.
You will complete EXSC 294 in your first semester and EXSC 298 in your second semester in the program. Each class is offered once a week for three hours, typically from 5:30-8:30 or 4:00-7:00 PM Pacific Time on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
HEAL 107 is offered in an online asynchronous (remote) format, which means you will watch lectures, read, and complete assignments on your own within a designated timeframe.
The rest of the courses in the Certificate of Performance (CP) and Certificate of Achievement (CA) vary in their offerings between online asynchronous and in-person classes. Both programs can be completed entirely online if you select only courses offered in the online format.
