The U.S. State Department does not allow U.S. citizens and those under U.S. jurisdiction to stay at state-run hotels. As there are no privately owned hotels in Cuba, the only option for U.S. travelers is to stay at a family owned and run casa particular (bed and breakfast). As Cuba has been transitioning from a state-run economy to one that is both state and privately owned, the bed and breakfast business is one of the most successful private businesses blossoming in Cuba. We have found that the quality of service and lodging experience is far better at casas particulares and boutiques than at hotels.
Delegation members will stay in wonderful B&B particular houses.
All breakfasts
Each room has its own air conditioner. The common areas are partially open, so these do not have a/c, but all bedrooms have a/c.
All bathrooms have modern showers with hot and cold water.
Each room has a safety box to keep cash and passports or other important documents.
Although there is laundry service available it is used primarily for guest bedding and towels. Nonetheless, a service can be made available upon request.
