The Music and Dance Facility is the home of our Music Department with fabulous studio and rehearsal spaces. It includes our beautiful Music Recital Hall, an intimate and elegant space where many of our concerts take place. The building also houses SCU Presents, our performing arts center promoting shows, concerts, and social justice events.
If you are coming from the center of campus, head towards the north west corner of campus where Lafayette and Franklin streets meet. Take a right past the Mission.
The Music Department is one of the most active on campus, a vital presence since 1851.
Serves 100 majors and disciplines across all the Schools and Colleges. It provides an intellectual and stimulating artistic environment fostering individual expression and creativity through the study of music and musical performance.
Besides a Bachelor of Arts major and minor, a minor in musical theatre is also available in conjunction with the Department of Theatre and Dance.
Students, faculty, and staff are involved in 9 ensembles ranging from Chamber Singers and New Music Ensemble to SCLOrk (our Santa Clara Laptop Orchestra) and World Music Ensemble.
