Curricular Activities
Check out the ideas below and create a project in Scratch based on one of them. Also, Explore the Resources on ScratchEd for lots of ideas, lessons plans, and more including the Scratch Cross-Curricular Integration Guide. Use the Search and Explore options on the Scratch website for ideas.

Language Arts:
Tell a Story:
Create a Scratch Project to tell a Knock-Knock joke. Check out my example.
Create a conversation between two characters in a story or book you have read.
Retell a story. Nursery Rhymes can be good for this. Check out my example using an Aesop’s Fable and another with my own version of a Nursery Rhyme.
Create an All About Me Project or adapt this for an All About a Book Character or Famous Person, etc.
Student Examples - These are mostly beginner projects.
My Example - This expands a bit by using recorded voice, imported images, and multiple backdrops.
A Teacher Friend's Example - Custom sprite with own picture that dances, use of map and imported images.
Another Student Example - This is not my student but it's a great example of where you could go with this project.
Create your own story and program it in Scratch. Check out this example for what's possible to do!
Write a poem and program it in Scratch.
Create a Parts of Speech game. This is a fun one for older students to do for younger students.
Create a Mad Libs story.
Create a book report or book trailer. See example.
Show what you know about rhyming schemes. See example.
Math:
Check out the ideas in Scratch Maths from the UK for Year 5 (4th grade here) and 4th Grade Math Modelers
Draw 2D shapes. See student examples. If you want to try this with younger students, try this starter project with all the blocks needed to draw a square.
Draw Your Initials: Using the coordinate plane, draw your initials. Block letters are fine. See my example. If that's too easy, try writing your name in cursive.
Write math stories.
Demonstrate math concepts. Lots of examples & more (some Science here as well)
Create math games to review math concepts. See example.

Create projects to illustrate knowledge about or model:

Snowflakes: My example and student examples
Create an animation: Remix Animate the Crab OR draw your own sprite and give it multiple costumes and then program it to show the animation.
Create a tutorial in Scratch on how to draw/create something using Scratch. Check out this example.
Create a quiz about art or artists.
Music:
Code a Song: Remix Play Me A Song and add a 2nd sprite and make this a round or code your own song.
Create a project about a famous composer
Create a music quiz. Example1 & Example2. This could be about composers or musical instruments or styles of music, etc.
