Article 2(3) (Right to an Effective Remedy) ensures that people can challenge policies that violate their rights. If Freeports or Special Economic Zones (SEZs) lead to weaker labor protections, tax avoidance, or public asset stripping, people could argue that they need a legal mechanism to challenge them. Article 22 (Freedom of Association) could be used if Freeports restrict trade unions or workers’ rights.
