The Library Squad is a team of dedicated student volunteers who help keep the Media Center running smoothly, assist with organizing resources, and create a welcoming space for all students. In addition to helping with day-to-day operations, they play a key role in promoting a love of reading and fostering a positive library environment by leading book discussions, organizing reading challenges, and encouraging their peers to explore new genres.
The Squad:
Literacy Ambassadors
Responsibilities:
Recommend books and create peer-based reading suggestions.
Write short book reviews for displays or digital sharing.
Help design and maintain eye-catching book displays based on themes or genres.
Ideal For:
Avid readers and students with strong writing or artistic skills.
Caretakers
Responsibilities:
Help check in returned books using the library system.
Sort and shelve books accurately using call numbers.
Tidy and straighten up shelves daily.
Ideal For:
Detail-oriented students who like systems and structure.
Marketing
Responsibilities:
Create posters, graphics, and videos to promote library events.
Contribute to the monthly newsletter or library social media.
Take photos (with permission) and collect quotes for library promotion.
Ideal For:
Creatives, communicators, and students interested in journalism or design.
Uber Reads Delivery
Responsibilities:
Deliver books to classrooms and students who placed holds.
Assist with delivering Book Satellites.
Keep delivery logs accurate and up-to-date.
Ideal For:
Organized students who enjoy helping behind the scenes and walking around campus.
Tech Support
Responsibilities:
Keep the Makerspace clean, organized, and ready for use.
Help restock supplies (batteries, tape, markers, robotics parts, etc.).
Assist with basic troubleshooting or setup if needed.

Students who like tech, crafting, building, or organizing.
Gamekeeper
Responsibilities:
Water library plants and maintain indoor greenery.
Refill and monitor bird feeders or outdoor garden features.
Help create a calm and nature-friendly space.
