Teaching through a holistic approach impacts how technology is purposefully integrated to create meaningful learning experiences for students. Technology should not be used simply as an add-on to in the learning environment but should serve a purposeful with an intention to enhance the learning experience of students.
Using the SAMR model educators can be used to reflect upon how the technology is being integrated into their instruction.
The SAMR model has 4 levels of integrating technology:
Modification (Level 3) and Redefinition ( Level 4) is the Transformative Stage. This allows students to incorporate technology in a meaningful way to create authentic learning experiences. Where students develop and enhance their critical thinking, creativity and analyzing skills.
