Group leader

Dr. Michael Schüler

Hello and welcome! I am currently an assistent professor at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and group leader of the Light-Matter interaction group at the Paul Scherrer Institute. My group is associated to the Laboratory of Materials Simulations (LMS).

I am interested in a wide range of condensed matter physics with emphasis on topological materials, ultrafast dynamics and systems far from equilibrium, computational physics, simulation of (time- and) angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, X-ray spectroscopies of quantum materials, and light-induced phases of matter in materials. Check out the research page for a description of ongoing projects and the list of publications to an impression.
If you would like to know more about my trajectory, have a look at my CV.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about our research!
