A Dress Rehearsal is a very important part of the recital experience. It is the first time the dancers will perform full-out in their costume with their hair and makeup complete. Our dress rehearsal will take place May 28th, May 29th, and May 30th at DOUGLAS COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL
When is Dress Rehearsal?
We will hold dress rehearsal at Douglas County High School on May 28th for 2nd-3rd grade classes and up, and on May 29th and 30th before the show for PreScho and K-1 classes. You can find the Dress Rehearsal schedule under the More tab.

Who can accompany my dancer at dress rehearsal?
One parent per dancer will be allowed to attend dress rehearsal. To minimize distractions, parents must sit in the back of the auditorium while dancers rehearse on stage. Please note that no parents will be allowed in the dressing room during dress rehearsal.
What time do I arrive at Dress Rehearsal?
2-3rd grade classes and up need to arrive at 4:45pm on Thursday. K-1 classes need to arrive 1.5 hours before their showtime, and PreScho classes need to arrive 1 hour before their showtime. ARRIVE IN FULL COSTUME, HAIR AND MAKEUP already done.
What can I expect at Dress Rehearsal?
At dress rehearsal, dancers will have the opportunity to block out their numbers on stage and run their piece once to help them feel more comfortable performing on the big stage. This is a crucial time to practice transitions, formations, and stage presence. While other dances are practicing, dancers can sit in the audience to watch, allowing them to relax and observe how the flow of the show will work. It’s a great chance for everyone to get comfortable with the stage before the big performance!
How long should I plan on being at Dress Rehearsal?
For Thursday’s dress rehearsal, you should plan on being at the rehearsal until 8:00 PM, as pick-up time is at that time. Dancers with dress rehearsal before the shows on Friday and Saturday will hang out in the dressing rooms until the show starts, so there’s no need to pick up dancers until after their big performance.
