This is the big day your dancer has worked for all year! Your dancer will be very excited and it’s going to be so much fun to take the stage and perform! We want to make this experience the best it can be for you and your dancer, so please continue to read all the details below carefully.
When does my dancer need to arrive at the theater?
If your dancer is in a 2-3rd grade class & up, please have them arrive at DCHS theater 30 minutes prior to their shows. K-1 and PreScho classes, check the dress rehearsal schedule for your arrival time.
What if my dancer is in multiple shows?
Come prepared with all your costumes, shoes and tights for all shows. There won’t be time to leave in between shows on Saturday, so we recommended packing a lunch and bringing a comfy set of clothes to change into between shows.
Where do I drop off my dancer?
You will drop them off near the backstage of the theater. We will have signs directing you in the lobby.
Who can drop off my dancer?
Anyone can drop off your dancer, as long as they will be there to pick up the dancer after the show. We give the person who drops off a card with your dancer’s name on it which must be returned at pickup to ensure your dancer goes home with the right person!
Should my dancer arrive at the venue in costume?
Yes. Please arrive to the venue in their first full costume, tights if applicable, makeup and hair. Shoes may be changed indoors.
Will my dancer be able to watch the show?
Dancers must stay backstage with us throughout the show. They will actually be able to watch some of the show from backstage. Each show will be a maximum of 75 minutes.
Can my dancer bring snacks backstage?
No food or beverage is allowed backstage except for dancers who are in both shows. We will have bottled water for dancers backstage. Make sure your dancer has eaten prior to arrival. Dancers who are in both shows are only allowed to eat in between shows. NO EATING is allowed during a show or while in costume.
Dismissal Policy & Procedure:
For courtesy and safety reasons, children will not be permitted to leave the theatre until the recital is complete in full. Caregivers will provide the card we gave at drop off with their child's name on it to our staff or volunteers.
Can I go backstage or to the dressing room to assist my dancer in between routines?
No. Guardians are not permitted backstage or in the dressing rooms during the show and during intermission unless they are parent volunteers. We will take care of your dancer and make certain they complete their costume changes successfully!
Can I take pictures and record my dancer during the show?
Photography and videography during the show is NOT permitted. Remember, we have a videographer recording the show that you get a copy of as included in your performance fee. Unlimited photos can be taken before and after the show and at dress rehearsal.
How will I receive the downloadable video after the show?
A Digital Copy download in High Definition of the show will be distributed to all our families as a part of your Performance Package via email within 90 days. For families who wish to have physical media such as a DVD, Blu-ray Disc or Flash Drive, that media is available as a separate purchase in our videographers' secure mobile friendly online store.
