Admissions Process

Admissions process into a 4-year university, with an end goal of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN):

• Normal process is to begin by applying to a 4-year university

• Talk with an advisor to best choose the correct pre-nursing classes

• May be required to declare a Nursing Major within the first year 

• After 2 years of pre-nursing and prerequisite classes, students will apply to the School of Nursing at their University 

Admissions process into a community college, with an end goal of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• Many require that you have your certified nursing assistant (CNA or NAC) certification before applying 

• Like a BSN, prerequisite college level classes are necessary to be completed before applying to the nursing program 

• Many ADN programs require taking the TEAS test
