Welcome

I’m Edith Vargas—a proud daughter of immigrants from Michoacán, Mexico, and a first-generation Latina counselor. My pronouns are she/her/ella. Raised in Lompoc, California, I often struggled to find a sense of belonging in my Latinidad, but through social justice and advocacy, I found my passion for creating spaces of community and empowerment.

I previously worked full-time as a college adviser for UC Berkeley, supporting first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. I am now completing my Master’s degree in Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential at San Diego State University, graduating in May 2025.

My counseling approach is rooted in community, storytelling, and unconditional positive regard. I am committed to ensuring all students feel seen, heard, and valued while empowering them to thrive.
