All media processing, history tracking, and favorite folder selections happen locally on your device.

App Permissions and Device Data

To provide the core functionality of the app, Scom Video Player requests the following device permissions:

• Media and Storage Access (Read/Write/Delete): We request access to your device's local storage (Images, Videos, and Audio) strictly to discover, display, and play your local media files within the app. The app also allows you to delete your own files directly from your storage, which requires your explicit confirmation. Your files never leave your device.

• Foreground Service & Notifications: We use background services and notifications to allow music and media to continue playing while the app is minimized or the screen is locked.

• Internet / Network State: This is used primarily to enable casting capabilities (Google Cast SDK) to smart TVs and to redirect you to other apps by the Scom Developer on the Google Play Store.

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Because Scom Video Player keeps your files locally on your device, the security of your files relies on your device's built-in security features.
