Scom Mobile Drive ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by Scom Developer, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application handles user information and permissions.

1. Summary of Core Privacy Principles

• No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, harvest, store, or transmit any personal information, contact lists, location data, or unique device identifiers.

• 100% Local File Transfers: All file copy, move, download, and upload operations occur strictly within your private local Wi-Fi network or Mobile Hotspot.

• No Cloud Servers or External Uploads: Your files, filenames, and data are never uploaded to any external server, third-party service, or cloud repository.

• No Third-Party Tracking or Ads: The app does not contain third-party analytics, telemetry, tracking software, or advertising SDKs.

2. Information Collection and Usage

Scom Mobile Drive operates entirely offline and locally:

• File Data: The app reads and writes files on your mobile device (Internal Storage or Micro-SD Card) solely to facilitate transfers between your mobile phone and your connected Mac, PC, or second mobile device via local WebDAV / HTTP protocols.

• Network Data: The app detects your local IP address solely to display the local connection URL (e.g., http://192.168.x.x:8080) on your screen for local device pairing. This network data remains strictly on your device.

3. Permissions Requested and Their Purpose

To function as a local wireless drive, Scom Mobile Drive requires the following Android system permissions:

Storage / All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE):

◦ Purpose: Required to allow you to view, download, upload, copy, and move files between your mobile storage (Internal Storage or Micro-SD Card) and your connected computer or mobile browser.

2. Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS):

◦Purpose: Required on Android 13+ to display an ongoing status notification while the local drive service is active in the background.

3. Internet and Wi-Fi State (INTERNET, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE):

◦ Purpose: Required to create a local WebDAV server socket on port 8080 over your local Wi-Fi or Mobile Hotspot.

4. Power & Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC):

◦ Purpose: Required to keep the CPU and Wi-Fi active during multi-gigabyte file transfers so copying does not disconnect when your phone screen turns off.

4. Data Security

Because all communications occur over your own local network or personal Mobile Hotspot, your file transfers inherit the encryption and security of your local Wi-Fi network. Furthermore, Scom Mobile Drive includes an optional Password Protection (HTTP Basic Auth) feature, allowing you to set a 4-digit PIN/password to prevent unauthorized devices on the same Wi-Fi network from accessing your shared files.

5. Children's Privacy

Scom Mobile Drive does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for users of all ages.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
