Safety Guidelines
When you're at archery practice it's important to remember that these are weapons, and you will get hurt if you don't follow the rules. You will be briefed every practice to ensure that you know the rules. This form shows the updated safety guidelines.
Things to know before Practice:
You must sign the participant liability waiver that shows that you know the risks.
Wear appropriate attire
No loose shirts, necklaces, long earrings, headphones
Long hair must be tied back
Must listen to the E-Board and Field Marshals for your safety and that of others
Safety at Practice:
Range Safety Commands are shouted by E-Board and field marshals. You will hear "CLEAR TO SHOOT" and "CLEAR TO RETRIEVE".
NEVER pick up a bow before hearing "CLEAR TO SHOOT".
NEVER pass the shooting line to collect your arrows before hearing "CLEAR TO RETRIEVE".
NO Sweeping: this means to have an arrow nocked on the bow and you point the arrow somewhere else besides towards the target.
ALWAYS point the arrow in the direction of the target.
NEVER point the arrow away from the target when talking to friends.
Nocking your arrow: this is a clear sign that you are ready to shoot.
NEVER nock an arrow when it is not your turn at the shooting line.
NO dry firing: dry firing is when you pull back the string and release without an arrow nocked.
NEVER release the string without an arrow nocked.
If you dry fire, you will be KICKED from the current practice (not a permanent ban).
If you dry fire a second time, PERMANENT BAN will be considered.
Remember, dry firing will put YOUR SAFETY and the SAFETY OF OTHERS at risk.
