Tonight, we will see the Cowboys visit the Giants on Thursday night football. This will be the first divisional game for the Cowboys this season, and the second for the Giants. Both teams come in to this game sitting at 1-2, the Cowboys steamrolled the Browns in Week 1 for a 33-17 win, were embarrassed by the Saints at home Week 2 and lost 44-19, and were dominated by Baltimore until threes4th quarter touchdowns made it a one possession game, the Cowboys ultimately could not pull off the come back and the final score would be 28-25. As for the Giants, they opened there season with an ugly 28-6 loss to the Vikings, Week 2 was a 21-18 loss to the Commanders in which the Commanders did not score a single TD and instead got there 21 points from 7 Brandon Aubrey FG's, the Giants scored 3 touchdowns but missed all three 2-pt tries (Giants kicker Graham Gano was injured). Finally the Giants were able to squeak out there first win in Cleveland 21-15. In the end neither team has been very impressive so far this season
The Cowboys certainly have more to lose in this game as this is undoubtedly an all in year for them. The Cowboys were able to get deals done with Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb but will most likely have to part ways with Micah Parsons once his contract expires, as they will not be able to afford him, meaning that the time Is ticking for this Cowboys squad if they really want to make some noise. As for the Giants, the extremely below average and inconsistent quarter back play from Daniel Jones has left them with low expectations, in my opinion this team is in somewhat of a rebuilding phase.
The Cowboys have won 13 of the last 14 meetings between these 2 teams, covering the spread in 4 of the last 5. The Cowboys won both matchups last year, the first coming in a nearly identical primetime game in which the Cowboys went into MetLife stadium and handed the Giants a 40-0 loss, the second meeting was slightly less lopsided with the Cowboys pulling off a 49-17 win. In short the Cowboys have historically owned this divisional rivalry and I expect them to do the same tonight.
