Guided by Community, Inspired by Students
"The future of our community lies in the hands of our educators and how they impact the lives of our children."
Tom Thornton is a dedicated community leader, small business owner, and lifelong supporter of the Haverford School District. As the owner of a local business that has provided jobs and opportunities for residents for over 25 years, Tom understands the importance of strong community connections and responsible leadership. His business consistently supports the needs of various youth programs, including Haverford’s sports teams, the Drama Club, the Prom BLAST, and Best Buddies. Tom is deeply concerned that national politics has taken hold of the school board in recent years and believes there is no place for political agendas when it comes to educating our children.
A proud father of three Haverford School District graduates, Tom has been actively involved in supporting local youth for decades. He has served as a volunteer board member for both local baseball and basketball leagues and currently coaches high school baseball at Haverford High School, where he mentors student-athletes on and off the field.
Tom is committed to ensuring that Haverford schools continue to provide exceptional educational and extracurricular opportunities for all students. His experience as a parent, coach, and business owner gives him a well-rounded perspective on the needs of the district, and a deep passion for helping every student succeed.
