The Victorian Government's Engage Survey on Stage 2 draft maps is now closed.
Thank you for speaking up in response to the Victorian Government’s recent Survey on its Activity Centres Program for Toorak train station and Armadale train station.
The State Government is now reviewing all feedback and expecting to finalise and release plans for our area in mid-2026, after their Sunday 22 March cut-off date to provide feedback about their draft maps.

What's happened so far
On 11 February the Victorian Government released draft maps for Toorak train station & Armadale train station (see BELOW), along with five other centres in the City of Stonnington, as part of their Activity Centre Program.
They asked people to respond via their Engage Survey by Sunday 22 March.
The draft maps released showed proposed building heights:
Up to 8-10 storeys in the ‘core area’ around Armadale train station
Up to 6 storeys in the 'core area' around Toorak train station
Up to 4 storeys (or 6 storeys on larger sites) in the 'inner catchment' areas around Toorak station and Armadale station
Save Armadale, a group made up of concerned local residents, helped raise awareness of the Survey, as well as Stonnington's Housing Strategy, released in 2025.
We submitted our response on 22 March in response to the draft map for the Toorak Station Activity Centre. Read the full submission here.
The City of Stonnington submitted its response on 17 March to the Activity Centres Program - Stage 2, Phase 2, with Key asks of the Government for all of the catchment areas across Stonnington including around Armadale Station and Toorak Station. AND Modelling of the Government's proposed building heights in Activity Centres showing impacts and asking our Government to listen and enact Stonnington's plan. Read the full submission here.

We love Armadale. We welcome growth for future residents— it’s a natural part of any thriving neighbourhood.
We will always advocate for growth and housing diversity that is done thoughtfully, preserving the heritage, liveability and neighbourhood character that makes Armadale what it is.
Let's continue to work together and take a "TIMBY Thoughtfully in My Backyard approach" to embracing thoughtul, well-planned new development that helps solve the housing crisis and creates real housing diversity.
