In my interview with Principal Dave Vail he stated that, "Despite the challenges, many parents are satisfied with the CVA form of education and happy they chose it over traditional education due to the flexibility of time, interaction between family members, fewer distractions, and ability to learn outside the four walls of a traditional classroom."
CVA emphasizes how crucial parents are to the learning process at CVA. They want parents to know that they need to be heavily involved and engaged in their child's learning and education while at CVA.
"Columbia Virtual Academy (CVA) is not a program where even the most independent learner can be left alone to work without parental support and guidance. As part of CVA’s partnership with families, parents" (Columbia Virtual Academy, 2020).

"CVA is a statewide K-12, public education program that supports parents as the first and most important educators of their children, who have the fundamental right and duty to make educational decisions for them. Parents and guardians can choose from among many options to ensure their children receive a quality education" (Columbia Virtual Academy, 2020).
The Buzz is a community news page at CVA. The Buzz is a place where all stakeholders can go for information about the CVA community. There are articles, facebook posts, videos and fun activities all linked to the Buzz. This is a great resouces for all CVA families and staff. The Buzz is also used as the course LMS where teachers and studnets can engage together in the curriculum.
