Connect

Engage students in activities that allow them to explore the effects of interactions between different subsystems

Close the lesson by helping students build connections between the different subsystems in interaction in the problem or phenomenon under analysis, reflecting on benefits, costs, and risks and strategies to address the issue. For that purpose:

Engage students in the identification and analysis of the effects of interactions between major Earth and human subsystems relevant to the problem or phenomenon under analysis.

Create opportunities for students to apply their knowledge in making decisions and suggesting or implementing individual or collective actions directed at addressing the societal and/or environmental problem under consideration.

As illustrated in the lesson on greenhouse gases, in the "Connect" phases of the lesson, students engage in activities that allow them to explore the effects of interactions between relevant subsystems, as well as apply their knowledge in making decisions and suggesting individual or collective actions directed at addressing the societal and/or environmental problem under consideration.
