Welcome to Sassin Rustic Roost—a small hobby farm, sanctuary, rescue, and handcrafted home décor space nestled in beautiful Eastern North Carolina.

What started with a few chickens and ducks quickly grew into a passion for raising happy, healthy poultry while creating a safe haven for birds that need a second chance. Today, our farm is home to a variety of free-ranging chickens, ducks, geese, and guinea fowl, along with Sassin Rustic Roost Sanctuary & Rescue, where abandoned, injured, disabled, elderly, and special-needs birds are given the opportunity to heal, thrive, and live out their lives surrounded by compassion.

We believe an animal's worth is never measured by what it produces. Whether a bird lays eggs, has a disability, or simply needs a forever home, every life matters.

Our flock enjoys plenty of room to roam, forage, dust bathe, and simply be birds. We proudly offer farm-fresh free-range chicken and duck eggs for your table, as well as hatching eggs from carefully selected breeding groups that are raised with an emphasis on health, temperament, and ethical breeding practices.

In addition to caring for our animals, we create handcrafted rustic décor inspired by farm life. From hand-burned signs, hand-painted wood signs, and custom home décor to small furniture pieces and one-of-a-kind gifts, every item is made with love and attention to detail.

Proceeds from our eggs, handcrafted décor, and other products are reinvested directly into the rescue and sanctuary, helping provide feed, veterinary care, medications, housing, enrichment, and daily care for the birds who call Sassin Rustic Roost home.
