Before the lesson began, I greet the students warmly as they entered the classroom. "Good morning grade 2 St.Joseph. I’m teacher daisy will be the one who will teach you today "

The second step is the warm-up step.

I had the students sing a song to help them relax and prepare before the lesson began. The song helped create a calm atmosphere, allowing the students to feel more at ease and ready to start the class. Then, I motivated the students by asking them to observe the differences between the two sentences.

Next step, I taught the students about the difference between sentences and non-sentences. I provided examples to help them understand the concept more clearly. To make it easier for them to grasp, I also included visual aids that illustrated the differences. This approach helped the students see the distinction in a more interactive and engaging way.

Afterward, I asked each student to explain what they had learned about sentences and non-sentences in their own words. As they shared their understanding, I provided additional explanations and corrected any misconceptions. I made sure to clarify the key points and offer examples where necessary to ensure that everyone grasped the concept correctly. This interactive approach helped reinforce their understanding and allowed for more effective learning.

I had the students play a game to review what they had learned, ensuring that they understood the content correctly. The game helped reinforce their knowledge in a fun and engaging way. I also awarded points to motivate the students and encourage friendly competition, which made the review session more exciting and interactive.

In the final step, I provided teaching materials for the students to separate the sentences into correct categories, distinguishing between sentences and non-sentences. Each group was asked to explain why they chose their answers, encouraging them to justify their reasoning. This activity allowed the students to apply what they had learned and deepen their understanding through group discussion and explanation.

Time management and organizing activities

The teaching session was 1 hour and 30 minutes long, so I had to carefully manage the time, especially since the teaching duration was different from what I was used to in Thailand. Time management was one of the challenges I faced. I was assigned to teach a grade 2 . Since the children were still young, their learning pace was slower, but they picked things up faster compared to other students I had taught before. As a result, it wasn’t too difficult to manage the time effectively and fit the content into the lesson.

Problem-solving while teaching

Problem-solving: I noticed that some students were shy and reluctant to answer questions. They also showed little interest in participating in group activities with their peers.

The solution: I began by asking questions directly to those students and encouraged their classmates to support them when answering. I reassured the students that it was okay to make mistakes. For the students who were not participating in group activities, I made them the group leaders to help guide the activities, allowing them to take a more central role in interacting with their peers.
