In December of 2020, while COVID-19 was at its peak, I felt compelled to take the free time we were given to finally give back to my community - something I longed to do all my childhood. After toying around with wires and crystal beads laying around my house, I created a simple wire ring. Content with my creation, I shared my ring to Instagram and was shocked at the initial support. I decided to turn it into a non-profit project, with 100% of proceeds going towards creating care packages for the homeless youth in my city. Overnight, my Instagram account blew up, reaching individuals from all across the GTA with HUNDREDS of orders. I was in awe at the support of my community, and diligently got to work. From managing finances to inventory, delivery and all things in between, Rings4Change became my introduction to the world of business, entrepreneurship, and non-profit initiatives. Within three weeks of constant production, I was fortunate to raise over $1200. With the help of my newfound Instagram family, we meticulously crafted care packages and donated them to Youth Without Shelter in Toronto.
Rings4Change served as a catalyst for my desire to create opportunity and change within my community. After realizing the power I possessed to create a positive impact on those around me, I chose that day onwards to continuously seek ways to create opportunities to spread more good. The entrepreneurial fire within me sparked and I soon after incorporated my jewelry business, forming Nirvana Collections Inc.
In April of 2021, I devastatingly and suddenly lost both of my grandparents to COVID-19 in India. Their lack of access to timely health care exacerbated a situation that could have been tamed had the right attention been provided to them. Within the span of 5 days, my grandparents were gone, and being on the complete other side of the earth, I felt helpless.
I wanted to do something, however small it may have been, in the name of my grandparents. I decided to re-intiate Rings4Change, selling jewelry and accepting donations with all proceeds going to international COVID relief funds. Within 2 weeks, my community came together to help me raise over $1100 which was then donated to various impact relief funds.
Rings4Change has since become a reminder of the value I am able to create. It has shown me the importance and power of creating opportunities and empowering the youth around me to make positive changes themselves.

In 2020, I was honored to be recognized as the recipient of City of Pickering's Youth Volunteer Award. I was awarded the medal by Mayor Dave Ryan and Ward Councilors.
