CFSP 4305 – Exceptionalities in Special Education: High Incidence Disabilities, Fall 2019
Invited guest speakers from the community to discuss a variety of topics including special education evaluations, collaborative IEP meetings, Traumatic Brain Injury, interviewing techniques and resume development
Created collaborative and reflective learning spaces for students through a variety of activities including case study group projects, interactive jigsaw conversations, peer feedback presentations, and individual summative art projects, journaling and self-care activities
Interacted with field supervisors in person, via phone and over email about student performance, assignments and programmatic changes quarterly
Held open office hours for students and advisees to discuss assignments and answer questions
Scholarship:
Served as notetaker for program meetings which included management and distribution of bi-monthly agenda
Developed a New Professor Scholarship Network who consulted about syllabi development, teaching best practices and research partnership ideas
Service:
University of Denver Representative for the Colorado Society of School Psychologists
Supported internship and advanced practicum events via panel discussions and round tables
Development an internship document for 2nd year students seeking out-of-state placements
Sponsored quarterly self-care gatherings for CFSP Faculty, Staff and Students
Actively attended college and University events including the Chancellor’s Welcome Back event and New Faculty Receptions sponsored by Office of Research and Sponsored Program
