Hamilton Trophies Guajolote 10K Race & 1 Mile Walk
45th Annual — Thanksgiving Morning Tradition November 26, 2026 at 8:30 AM
The Hamilton Trophies Guajolote 10K Race is one of Laredo's oldest and most beloved community events. Held every Thanksgiving morning since 1979, the race brings together approximately 300 participants of all ages — from competitive runners to families and people of all abilities. To celebrate our 45th anniversary, we will be hosting a 5k along with the 10k this year.
Santiago Sanchez’s goal was to promote fitness and health in the Laredo community at a time when foot races and other sporting events were rare. In 1979, with the help of his daughter Gloria, he organized the first Annual Guajolote 10K Race—the origin of Laredo’s first 10K.
The race is chip-timed for the 10K, with age group awards and participant medals for all participants . It's a Laredo Thanksgiving tradition that starts the holiday with health, community, and purpose.
