What to Expect

What will be covered for each academy day:

**In order to graduate, you must attend all three days for all modules**

Friday, March 13th, 4:00pm-9:00pm:

• Disaster Preparedness

• CERT Organization

• Disaster Psychology

• Terrorism/CERT

Saturday, March 14th, 9:00am-5:00pm:

• Medical Operations/Stop-the-Bleed

• Emergency Radio Communications/Fire Safety

• Triage

• Light Search & Rescue

Sunday, March 15th, 8:00am-12:30pm:

• Disaster Scenario

• Graduation

Depending on how fast each module goes. Please have your parent/guardian available to pick you up in the hour preceding the end of each day. Teens will be able to give your ride a 30 minute heads up before the end of each day so that they know when to come.

Basic guidelines for participants of the academy:

• We request that participants arrive around 10-15 minutes before the start of each day to help with the smooth operation of the academy. 

• Participants should wear long pants and comfortable clothing that you are not afraid to get a little dirty, as some of the hands-on training may involve contact with the ground.

• Clothing should not display content that is offensive, graphic, political, or otherwise inappropriate for a professional training environment. 

• Participants should wear closed toed shoes for safety reasons. 

• Participants need to bring a reusable water bottle and a bagged lunch on Saturday.

• Dinner will be provided on Friday for all members of the academy.

• All training materials and Personal Protection/Safety Equipment will be supplied to you throughout the weekend
