WBL Legal and Safety Plan
This Work-Based Learning (WBL) Legal and Safety Plan establishes a framework for extending agricultural education beyond the classroom through structured, student-oriented experiential learning. The plan prioritizes student safety and district protection by requiring comprehensive pre-placement milestones, including OSHA hazard verification, PPE obtainment, and ten hours of documented safety research for informal settings like farms and feedlots. By implementing a "triad of consent" between the school, employer, and student, the plan creates a liability shield supported by formal contracts and safety pledges. This document will help myself and students stay safe during their WBL experiences.
