Not at all! We welcome members and non-members plus guests who are interested or curious about the SCA!
If you want to know more about Montengarde, the Calgary chapter of the Kingdom of Avacal, visit our website!
We ask all guests to make an attempt at wearing pre-17th century clothing.
Luckily, we have loaner clothing called "Gold Key". You can chat with our Chatelaine or their Gold Key Deputy about borrowing loaner clothing for this event.
Sorry, in order to make feast for a large number of people and estimate the feast budget, we are unable to make changes for individuals.
Visit the Feast page to learn about ingredients, or the Venue page to learn about nearby dining alternatives.
We will have some classes at this event, which may include some minimal additional costs.
Each teacher may charge an additional cost for supplies, printed notes, etc. These are usually charged on a cost-recovery basis. Please bring cash, and exact change is appreciated.
We also are inviting some wonderful merchants to tempt your coin purse, so plan your shopping trip as well!
Unfortunately there is no fridge, microwave, etc for use by guests, as our feast team will be busy using those tools to prepare a delicious evening meal.
We will have a lunch-by-donation, thanks to generous volunteers.
Our venue is a non-smoking venue.
Please go to the parking lot to smoke, and discard your butts in your vehicle ashtray.
Please don't use the hall's garbage cans to dispose of cigarette butts.
We have members who are severely allergic to other smoke, so please do not indulge on the grounds.
After the event, lost & found will be posted on the Facebook event ONLY (with photos) and will be passed along to Montengarde's Lost & Found deputy. If you're missing something after the event, please contact them.
