Statistics are powerful tools that serve a variety of purposes that we will cover in this course. Even if it it not your intention to pursue a career in research or statistical analysis, what is offered in this course will make you a more critical consumer of information in your academic, professional, and personal life.
We will start with the basics- answering questions like why we do research, begin with describing data, and then move into making exciting, logic-based conclusions and inferences using data. And most importantly, we will learn to understand the limitations of science and statistics.
