ATI Physical Therapy was our consulting site and partner throughout the DEx. As previously stated, ATI was not allowing students on-site full time to ensure they were in accordance with federal, state, and local government guidelines that were in place at the time to contain the spread of infection. As a result, consultation was done through a hybrid format and utilized online platforms such as Zoom.
About ATI
"Founded in 1996, ATI began with one clinic in Willowbrook, Illinois and has grown its progressive, innovative approach to reach hundreds of clinics across the United States. We have sustained a remarkable growth rate, in part, due to multi-clinic acquisitions and new clinic openings. But also due to our expert team, innovative culture, remarkable outcomes, and unique approach to patient care.
We are the largest physical therapy company under one brand name in the U.S., but also pride ourselves on our small-practice, family-like atmosphere. When you come in our door, you’ll be greeted by our friendly, motivating team.
ATI is a nationally-recognized rehabilitation provider. We specialize in research-based physical therapy, workers’ compensation rehab, employer worksite solutions, sports medicine, home health, and a variety of specialty therapies." - ATI Physical Therapy

As occupational therapists, we do a careful analysis of the physical, mental, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, and cultural factors of an individual or a group of people in order to identify barriers to occupation. Below, you will find the needs assessments of the consulting site, the community needs assessments, and the community profile. The goal of these documents is to understand this population and their strengths, weakness, opportunities, threats, as well as their culture and perceptions.
It is important to note that the community profile and both community needs assessments were completed prior to the start of the DEx and prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The needs assessment for the consulting site, however, was completed during the DEx project implementation via Zoom with clinical observations done on-site. The Cornell Hand Discomfort Questionnaires (CHDQ) was also completed and can be found below with the other supporting documents.
