Salomé Cojean
- Learning strategies and performance:
The aim is to describe and understand strategies spontaneously implemented by learners in several learning contexts. For instance, it can be the analysis of multitasking behaviors and their impact on learning for higher education students in real-time classrooms (Jamet et al., 2020), or consultation strategies in video (Cojean & Jamet, 2021).
- Instructional video design:
Compared to written documents, videos have some benefits but also some disadvantages. The aim is to evaluate the impact of presentation modifications regarding the identified constraints. For instance, it can be the analysis of the effect of timeline segmentation and presence of a table of contents on information seeking (Cojean & Jamet, 2017, 2018) or on learning (Biard et al., 2018; Cojean & Jamet, 2021, 2022) performance, as well as the analysis of the effect of subtitles on learning (Cojean & Martin, 2021).
- Adaptive learning environments design and acceptability of Artificial Intelligence (AI):
Current technological advances in AI open up new perspectives for learning environments to 1) evaluate individual differences and 2) adapt to and compensate these differences. Beyond the design of such environments, it is necessary to evaluate their acceptability among future users (Martin et al., 2020; Ragot et al., 2020).
