BUCS Wednesdays are finally back upon us at Salford. After nearly a month and a half off, the teams at UOS are ready to climb up the league tables and progress through the cups.
Football
The men's thirds will be getting us underway at Peel Park as they face UA92 thirds at noon.
There are plenty of matches on home soil this week for both the men's and women's teams. The women's firsts face off against Liverpool John Moors seconds at 3 pm. The ladies look to bounce back from their defeat against Chester before the break. Salford are currently 5th in the table and could move up a spot if results were to go their way.
The Men Firsts are currently undefeated against Manchester Met sides this season, winning all three matches. This is their second time taking on the MMU seconds with their last result being a 3-2 win away from home. With joint top scorers Leke Ajibode and Leo Dierick-Nurse both coming back from injuries, expect to see plenty of goals down at the 3G.
SSTV will be covering all 3 matches with video and commentary for the men's first fixture.
Basketball
We’ve got a doubleheader to look forward to at the sports centre as the firsts and seconds play back to back. The firsts are having a season to remember only being one spot below the top with a game in hand. They’ll be taking on varsity rivals Chester at 5:30 pm. The visitors currently sit bottom of the table without a win but with varsity only being under 2 months away, they have a chance to gain some bragging rights before the big day.
Straight after the firsts, you’ll be able to catch the seconds who currently sit top of the division. Looking to extend their 3-0 run they’ve got to overcome UA9s firsts with tip-off at 7 pm. Both sides met just before the winter break with Salford taking the W 63-49.
Hockey
Both men's and women's hockey will be playing at Timperly Sports Club as they both welcome travelling opposition.
The women's Firsts hope to get their first win on the board as they take on Bangor's firsts. Shortly after the Men's Firsts will be up against bottom of the league Lancaster as they look to record their second win of the season.
