University sports returns tomorrow with league and cup matches which could make or break the team's seasons.
Women’s Rugby (U) firsts 12:30 pm
After settling for a walkover last week, the women’s firsts hopefully will be able to field a squad as they’re set to face Uni of Manchester’s seconds on the road.
Men's football firsts 1 pm
After an impressive 5-1 win at home against UCFB thirds, Salford will now have to go to their ground in an attempt to do it all over again. With only two fixtures left for the firsts this season, they’re mainly playing for morale and will hope to finish the season strong.
Women’s hockey firsts 2 pm
It’s the last home fixture for the ladies' hockey as they welcome Edge Hill firsts. After a convincing 4-2 win against rivals Chester the hosts look to bring that momentum into their remaining 3 league games.
Women’s football firsts 3 pm
It’s a trip to West Yorkshire on the horizon for the Salford ladies who make the trip to Leeds. Both sides will have the chance to book their place in the Aldi women’s Northern Conference cup semi-finals with a win tomorrow. Salford beat both Bangor and Sheffield in their current run and potentially have the chance to play varsity rivals Chester in the next round.
Men’s hockey firsts 4 pm
Salford can progress to another semi-final if they can overcome Newcastle’s thirds. Both sides are currently in the 4th division with Salford on the A side and Newcastle on the B. The away side currently sit second in their respective league only losing one of their 6 games this season.
Men’s football seconds 4 pm
It’s been a season to remember for the men’s seconds who’ve only dropped two points this season. Their opponents can’t be underestimated with visitors UCFb 7s having won their last three matches. A welcome challenge for the seconds who hope to pile the pressure on 1st-placed Liverpool John Moores 6s.
