Community and Mission
A few years ago, a course was held over several weeks entitled “Know your Church, Know your Community” which enabled Church members to have the opportunity to understand better the needs of our community and also to have insight into how the Church is viewed by people living locally.
From this understanding we have sought to develop a policy of “Radical Hospitality” reaching out making all welcome into our buildings and community. We believe this provides both practical support for people but also provides the most effective platform for sharing the love of Jesus in our community.
We have for the last 4 years run a café and Foodbank on a Tuesday morning including advocacy and job seeking help provided through People Matter, a local agency assisting the unemployed in seeking employment.
Over the half term holiday in October 2020 over 300 meals were provided for children who would normally have been in receipt of school lunch.
