Saily sells prepaid travel eSIM data in fixed bundles: a set allowance, a set validity window, one price. The coupon EDC10 takes 10% off, and Saily's terms allow one coupon per transaction. That single rule is what turns "which plan should I buy" into a question with a discount attached, because the size of the plan you choose decides how much the 10% is actually worth in dollars, and how many separate times you will have to type the code.
Saily is a travel eSIM service from Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN, covering more than 200 destinations. Plans are data-only, so your home SIM stays in place for calls and texts, and the app lets you switch between country plans without installing a new eSIM profile.
Using the published prices, the discount scales with the plan:
Japan eSIM from US$3.99 for 1 GB — roughly 40 cents off
Regional plans such as Asia and Oceania from around US$4.99 — roughly 50 cents off
A mid-tier country plan at $8.99 for 3 GB — roughly 90 cents off
20 GB valid 30 days at $24.99 — around $2.50 off
25 GB valid 60 days at $48.99 — around $4.90 off
The percentage applies to the plan price rather than taxes or local fees, so the figure shown in the order summary may not be an exact tenth of the final total. Prices are billed in US dollars.
If your data needs are predictable, a single larger purchase concentrates the saving into one transaction and one use of the code. Buying 20 GB for 30 days at $24.99 gives you about $2.50 back in one go. Buying three separate 3 GB plans at $8.99 each, by contrast, means entering EDC10 three times on three checkouts to collect about 90 cents each; miss it once and that portion of the discount is gone, because the terms state the discount is not retroactive once payment is completed.
Top-ups bought later are treated as separate transactions and need the code applied again, so an under-sized plan that forces a mid-trip top-up creates an extra checkout where the discount can slip through.
Larger is not automatically better. Plan validity generally begins when the eSIM connects to a network at your destination, so a 30-day allowance bought for a ten-day trip wastes the tail of the window. A 25 GB plan valid 60 days at $48.99 only pays off if you will genuinely be abroad, and online, long enough to use it. For a short first trip, a cheap 1 GB Japan plan or a low-cost regional plan keeps the outlay small even though the cash saving is only cents.
There is also a separate scheme worth noting: US$5.00 in Saily credits per successful referral. Those credits sit in your account balance and are separate from coupon codes, so they do not change the plan-size calculation.
Search saily.com or the Saily app for your destination and pick the plan card with the allowance and validity you want.
Sign in or create an account with email, Google or Apple; there is no code field at this stage.
At checkout, tap the collapsed 'Got a coupon?' link beside the order summary to open the input.
Type EDC10 exactly, with no stray spaces, and press Apply.
Check the total has dropped by 10% before choosing card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Install the eSIM profile through the in-app prompts or the emailed QR code.
Codes do not stack with other coupons and generally do not stack with other active promotions or seasonal campaigns. Sources disagree on reuse: one says codes are limited to one use per account, another says EDC10 can be used on later trips, which matters directly if your plan is to split purchases. Whether any minimum spend or plan-tier eligibility applies is not stated, nor is whether the discount is honoured on Saily Ultra subscription renewals. Plans include a 180-day activation period, with unactivated plans auto-activating when it expires.
