A Saily purchase is quick, but only if the phone is ready. Saily is a travel eSIM service built by Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN, and it sells prepaid data plans as a digital SIM profile rather than a physical card. That means the handset must be eSIM-capable and carrier-unlocked. Most iPhones from the XS onward qualify, and Saily lists supported devices on its site.
Have three things to hand: the destination country or region, a rough idea of how much data you want and for how many days, and a payment method. Card payments work, as do Apple Pay and Google Pay on supported devices. Prices are billed in US dollars. Plans are data-only in most cases, so your home SIM stays in place for calls and texts.
Working through saily.com or the Saily app, the sequence is the same:
Search for your destination country or region. Saily covers more than 200 destinations.
Pick a plan card showing the data allowance and validity in days that suits the trip.
Sign in or create an account using email, Google or Apple. There is no code field at this stage, so do not go looking for one.
On the checkout page, tap the collapsed EDC10 entry point — the 'Got a coupon?' link beside the order summary — to expand the input field.
Type EDC10 exactly, with no stray spaces, then press Apply.
Check the order summary total has fallen by 10% before you choose a payment method.
Pay, then install the eSIM profile using the in-app prompts or the QR code sent by email.
Step six is the one people skip. The discount is not retroactive once payment is completed, so a missed code means paying full price on that order.
If speed matters more than optimisation, start at the cheap end and top up later. Regional plans such as Asia and Oceania start at around US$4.99, and a Japan eSIM starts at US$3.99 for 1 GB. Mid-tier country plans sit in the high single digits, for example $8.99 for 3 GB. Heavier users can look at 20 GB valid 30 days for $24.99, or 25 GB valid 60 days for $48.99. There is also a Saily Ultra subscription giving 30 GB of high-speed data monthly, then unlimited at up to 1 Mbps, bundled with airport lounge access, fast-track passes, lounge entry for flights delayed over two hours, a monthly Uber voucher and access to NordVPN, NordPass, NordLocker and Incogni.
One caution on topping up: a later top-up is a separate transaction, so the code has to be entered again. Whether the discount is honoured on Saily Ultra subscription renewals is not stated.
On iPhone the install path is Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM. On Android it is Network and internet > SIMs > Add eSIM. In practice the in-app prompt handles most of this. Because the eSIM is tied to your account, the profile can be reinstalled after a phone change or reset, and the app lets you switch between country plans without installing a new profile.
Timing works in your favour if you buy early. Plans include a 180-day activation period, and validity generally begins when the eSIM connects to a network at your destination. Unactivated plans auto-activate when that 180-day window expires. Sources disagree on whether data roaming must be enabled for the Saily line, so check the in-app guidance if the connection does not come up on arrival.
Only one coupon applies per transaction, and codes do not stack with other coupons or, generally, with other active promotions and seasonal campaigns. The percentage typically comes off the plan price rather than taxes or local fees. Referral credits — US$5.00 per successful referral — sit in your account balance and work separately from coupon codes.
Two points remain unclear. Published accounts disagree on reuse: one says codes are limited to one use per account, another says EDC10 can be used on later trips. Any minimum spend, plan-tier eligibility or excluded promotional bundles are also not stated. The checkout total is the only reliable confirmation.
Every plan includes an ad blocker at no extra cost, plus web protection against malicious sites and trackers, and a virtual location tool with more than 115 options.
