Safer GANC - Security Patrol Policy
Patrol Time: 6 hrs/day, 7 days/week.
During hours set by the neighborhood Safer GANC board, an Private Security & Patrol officer patrols the GANC neighborhood as many times as safely possible, factoring in their entitled breaks. At times, they park in parts of the neighborhood that give them a good view of incoming traffic or individuals and monitor from that parked position. They verify their patrols by electronically tagging over a dozen checkpoint markers set at various locations within the Safer GANC neighborhood. GANC neighbors managing the patrol company relationship monitor the tagging records.
Patrol company has a list of the Safer GANC “subscribers” - neighbors who contributed funds to the neighborhood security projects. In order for the security officer to contact a resident in the event of a security incident or some other reason, each subscriber/contributor must provide contact information to [atrol company - name(s), address, home and/or cell contact numbers - by emailing safergancboard@googlegroups.com .

The security officer will try to do this on their own, but Safer GANC contributors can request this for packages that they know have been delivered while they're away. The security officer will also notify contributors of open garage doors or other open doors visible from the street, or any other suspicious situation. (You must have provided patrol company your contact information in order to be notified of events at your address, by emailing the info to safergancboard@googlegroups.com .)
Post Patrol signs can be printed by the homeowner and posted on their property. Patrol company prefers that at least one of their signs be posted on each subscriber’s property where it is visible from the street - either in a window or in a front landscape area.
A visible sign allows the security officer to quickly identify subscriber homes during patrols or when responding to a call.
The signs also help deter crime.
Patrol signs are available to subscribers by requesting them from the Safer GANC Board (safergancboard@googlegroups.com), including replacement signs.
Security officers are not be available to escort contributors to the police station or anywhere else outside of GANC.
