About the Campaign

Digital violence is real-world violence. Online harassment, cyberstalking, doxxing, impersonation and image-based abuse harm women, girls and marginalised groups. The 2025 focus calls for prevention, platform accountability and survivor-centred support. 

The global 16 Days campaign runs from 25 November to 10 December and mobilises governments, civil society, youth and the UN system under the message #NoExcuse for Online Abuse. The 2025 theme focuses on Ending Digital Violence against all Women and Girls. 

Belgium advances a holistic response to gender-based and digital violence, aligned with the Istanbul Convention and its National Action Plan. Internationally, Belgium supports UN Women, UNFPA and led UNHRC Resolution 56/19 on technology-facilitated gender-based violence. 

Safe public spaces support safer digital behaviour. Inspired by Belgium’s Speelstraat and symbolised by the Thai–Belgian Bridge, A Safe Journey With Her links family learning, community action and digital safety.
