University Police

The University Police service is a full service general law enforcement agency tasked with the duty of patrolling the University and its surrounding area. Officers may occasionally leave the university area to refuel, travel to and from a police station, transport a suspect, travel to another jurisdiction, or to respond to a priority mutual aid request. Officers shall be logged into the "clock-in" system and may use the citywide police frequency, or another channel, at their discretion. In the event of a university officer requiring backup, engaging in a pursuit, or performing law enforcement duties beyond the general area of the university, they are required to utilize the general citywide police frequency. 

Vehicle: fpiu21tr (License plate must be callsign; lightbar & pushbar required, slicktop permitted for sergeant or higher rank).

Uniform: Any Duty Belt (Drop-legs only allowed within your department's policy); Boots; Shirt & Overlay 318 #1 or 319 #1; Lower 126; Bags 30-32; Optionally any generic vest that says "Police"

Equipment: Taser, Standard Police Pistol, Baton, Flashlight, Flare Gun, Shotgun, Assault Rifle

Disclaimer: You are expected to follow the professionalism standards and guidelines that exist within your main department. You are your main LEO character when performing this overtime assignment. 

The University Police is staffed entirely by employees of other full-service law enforcement agencies who perform overtime patrol work as a ULSAPD officer (untrained cadets/probationary members are not permitted); there is no invitation or additional application requirement. There may be a maximum of 5 ULSAPD units on duty at any given time. 


The University Police service is managed by the Board of Directors.
