Lifeguard Service

The Lifeguard Service is a multi-purpose volunteer rescue and first-aid agency composed of unpaid civilian volunteers. Any civilian may undertake becoming a Lifeguard without any invitation or application requirement. 

The Lifeguard Service is responsible for:

• Drownings

• First Aid

• Water Rescue

The Lifeguard Service may:

• Use lights and sirens when responding to an emergency call within their jurisdiction

• Close roads temporarily for safety reasons.

• Operate in the areas of: Vespucci Beach & Pier, Paleto Bay Beach, The Alamo Sea, and Chumash Beach & Pier. 

The Department of Water and Power's vehicles include:

• Blazer Lifeguard (ATV) (Spawncode: blazer2)

• Granger Lifeguard (SUV) (Spawncode: lguard)

• Lifeguard Jetski (Spawncode: seashark2)

The Lifeguard service is managed by the Board of Directors.
