April 1993 - Article on SADAC history
By April 1993, local press highlighted Stroud as the essential club for the valleys, praised for its pleasant atmosphere and dedication to the athlete, regardless of ability. Leading member Mollie Mills famously summarized the club's ethos: 'The club aims to encourage team spirit and obtain the best from athletes whatever their ability.'
By this time, the October Stroud Half-Marathon had already seen well over 12,000 runners cross its finish line. The club's young athletes team was rising rapidly, aiming to take their 1992 Avon League success straight into the National Young Athletes League.
