Co-Curricular Experience

IAC Mural

I am one of two students selected to create a mural in the Inclusivity and Advocacy Center, Edgehill Mansion for the spring semester of 2022.

"The Inclusivity and Advocacy Center is a judgement free space where students feel they can be themselves. A space where we are honoring and embracing the histories, lives, and experiences of diverse groups represented on campus. This is a space where student groups plan and meet. The center can be utilized for both theoretical discussions and practical actions that promote activism and bring people together to exchange ideas."

The process for creating this mural was very unique. Eileen Spahle and I created sketches and blueprints and merged them together to construct one cohesive piece. With hours and hours of painting and sketching, we were able to create something powerful. The goal of this project was to embrace the diversity on campus and create a space where that feels celebrated. Ever once in a while when I walk up to the third floor of Edgehill Mansion, it makes me proud when I see students utilizing the space Eileen and I created.
