Education Plan

I attended Folsom High School in Folsom California and graduated in May, 2019. After high school, I chose Dominican because of the incredible reputation the nursing program has and the beauty of campus is undeniable. The community energy is unlike most colleges and the surplus of trees and nature reminds me of home. I feel like it is a benefit attending a small school because I have become so close with other students on campus and the class size average is 15. This way classes are more interactive and collaborative which I enjoy.

Service Learning

During my time at Dominican so far, I have completed 2 courses of Service Learning within the Marin Community. For both courses I worked at Canal Alliance, ESL. Doing my service learning at Canal Alliance allowed me to dive deeper into the issue of linguistic differences and research the unequal stratification of wealth, accents, school demand, and language loss, and their contributions to linguistic discrimination today.

On behalf of my Honors Effective Communication and Cultural Anthropology course, I was selected to represent and speak in the Service Learning Symposium (2019).
